They acquire melee AoE attacks and lifesteal, while most of their CC shifts to ranged with certain exceptions such as Disarm staying melee.įinally, Dark Ranger healers focus on throwing potions at both their allies and enemies to heal and CC areas of the battlefield.
Switching proficiency between the ranged and melee weapons, the Dark Ranger turns into an avoidance based tank, specializing in parrying and evading blows from the enemy. These images could be upgraded with the capability to switch your location with them, as well as toggling between attacking the nearest target and staying in stealth until you switch your position with them. Unique abilities for this spec could include conjuring images of yourself that persist for a set amount of time. The ranged weapon will be used for damage, while the melee weapons will be used for CC abilities. The damage profile of the Dark Ranger DPS spec will be primarily single-target burst damage with limited AoE capability (similar to Marksmanship Multi-Shot). The common denominator between all specs for this class will be stealth, mail armor, and dual wield + ranged weapon. Personally, I think this would be great for the next class.
